Update as to where I am at date. I called the dealer as wife could not go today due to other commitments I did not know about previously.
The manager has the coach in the shop for the mechanic to check out some of the questions I presented to him. I gave him a refundable deposit just to hold it for a few days. My biggest concern is the rubber roof as I'm uncertain what product Allegro used in 1999 and if it will need replacing anytime soon. That is going to be a $3-4K job in itself.
A couple of months ago I looked at a 1996 Winnebago Luxor with 44,000 miles and 100 hours on the diesel generator which appeared to be in mint condition in and out. I offered $27,000 for it based upon the private sale, six tires at $3500 and the dash heater AC not working. They got mad at me, reduced the price from $35K to $33K but I felt was too much for that old a coach in need of work. Was I wrong? This entire process has been a real eye opener and a learning experience.
I surely appreciate all of the help and advise presented here.
