Well today turned out to be another disappointment. The Allegro Bus was not nearly as clean as the dealer described with damage to the rear cap in the area of the "bumper", a roof in need of replacement and signs of a previous water leak in the area of the bedroom directly under the two patches on that side of the roof. I found the wall material to be puffed out a bit in approximately a 1' area along the floor. This was not a huge concern to me, however, since the rest of the coach looked too well worn I walked away.
The second coach I looked at is a 2002 Monaco Diplomat with low miles 12k and low generator hours. It looked good on the outside, real good. Inside was pretty average, no spotless but not a real mess other than the mouse calling cards I found here and there. It appeared to be more of a live-aboard than a traveler. I love the rear bathroom and the second half bath. Unfortunately I found wet areas at the bottom the slider on each side near the floor. Appeared to not be damaged, but wait! I found rippled wallpaper abaft the helm seat both adjacent to the large window and at floor level, an area which encompassed approximately 4' in height.
I checked the outside and found the basement compartment just below the window was wet inside. Additionally, the hinged area seemed to move quite a bit so I looked up into the wall from inside the compartment and found de-lamination. I really like this coach but I doubt I could fix this. Perhaps once dried out epoxy could be injected into it? I'm quite certain I could buy it right.
