- mkguitarExplorerseems that a motorhome built on a van body is considered a B by some, who consider an RV built onto a cab & frame a C....add in B+ and C+....?
but then there are the widebodies like the PW Excel and the Roadtrek 200/210...
It is kind of a 2 step process.
a.) the chassis/ drivetrain.
Research the MB part
b.) the conversion.
I have an older Pleasure-Way B ( 2006 Lexor on a Chev chassis).
I am pleased with the quality of the cabinetry and interior construction, thrilled with the attention to detail in the plumbing and electrical systems.
Any RV is a pile of compromises.
Try to determine your priorities.
My considerations were:
Size of bed
Chev Chassis ( easy for me to work on- I have other Chevs)
Ease of spouse to go "solo"
Parking...I have a 20' model no wider than a pickup or van.
some areas have size restrictions ( ex: My wife was in Culver City, CA a few weeks ago- NO street parking over 21' allowed there.
some RV's chew up alot of space for a wet bath...in reality, many of us don;t use the shower and shower at campgrounds...( mine has a shower pan that fits into the aisle)- so devoting alot of room to a wet bath may not be best use of space- or it may be exactly what you need/want.
Many of us do not use the generators...running one is like a lawnmower in the living room. Some can;t live without.
Try to list the features you need, would like, don;'t care about.
Watch youtube videos , there are some really good videos from dealers, showing layout and features
