I have two pocket doors and your suggestion is interesting but not workable in my case since there is no way to positively latch the doors in the closed position, the included lock is not very sturdy and would probably rip something out the first tight left hand turn I encounter. If I fail to lock a door open it reminds me none to gently as I make my first turn.
