We have had a Weber Q 100 for several years and wouldn't trade it for any other brand on the market. As mentioned it's much lighter than the 200. It also takes up less room and is a lot easier to take in and out of the storage compartment.

We had a couple different brands before going to the Weber Q but weren't satisfied with their performance.

Current basic models are the Q1000 at 28.5 lbs. and the larger Q 2000 at 42.5 lbs.

I put my larger unit on the deck at the house and now use the lighter Q100 on the road

Something we noticed. We have a Q1200, which we got this year and have cooked on it....well a about 12 bottles this year ;)

We found a Q120 on leftover/closeout a short while ago. It had a cast iron grate that was UNCOATED. Ours has a (ceramic?) coated cast iron grates.

The wings are kind of flimsy, but hold light items well. Any larger would be difficult for us to carry in the space we have. Any smaller wouldn't quite meet our needs.

Yes, we can overload it, but most of the time it is good for 3-5 of us. 6 just starts to push it. More, and we have to cook in batches.

It's pretty light, even more when you remove the 2 piece grates, though they can be messy.

I have a weber q200, and a Green Mountain Grill Davey Crocket pellet Grill. (12Volt) yes... 12V it is awesome!!!!

For a seriously heavy duty ultralight tiny bbq check out the Magma marine units. We have their smallest, the grill is 9 inches by 12 inches. It works great for two or four people and stows in the tiniest amount of space we have ever seen.

We started out with a Q220 and just loved how it cooked and the convenience of the fold-out shelves. The big snag was that the thing was about 3/4" too tall to fit in a stow-bin with the lid on. In the end, we defined the 220 as our patio BBQ (replacing a behemoth big enough to land a 737 on) and bought a Q-100 to travel.

Now we're selling the MH, we're keeping the Q100 as a supplementary unit for when all the family are over. We're a bit bummed that CW didn't have the Q120 as the fold-out shelves are very handy.

I also carry the Q-100 and the portable fold up stand. It took several uses to get used to it, but once I learned the you have to give it a little longer than double burner large grills to warm up, I wouldn't trade for it.

I use a Weber Go Anywhere grill. First one lasted 19 years. Needed a new flame bar and flavorizer so I bought a new one for a few dollars more than replacing worn out parts. I think it would be a lightweight quality replacement you are looking for.

Just tell the wife to let you know when it is setup so you can start cooking. :B
