If you restore it as a hobby or as a "labor of love", that's fine.
If you are thinking of the restoration as an investment, you are quite possibly delusional. It is very doubtful you will get anywhere near what you invest in it in return.
As for the framing issue, others have answered that. If still in doubt, remove a roof vent and take a look inside the roof
