I'm not doing it for either reason, Mowermech. I needed an older model RV because it takes at least 15 years for the toxins to outgas from the main materials. A newer one would be far too toxic! I stripped out the petroleum based linoleum and carpet and replaced it with strand bamboo. I replaced the cab carpet with organic wool. I've sealed all the other toxic hard surfaces and replaced all the window materials/curtains with organic cotton. Same with the bed. I'm remodeling it so it operates as a Medical Isolation Unit, and accommodates my disabilities. Mine is perfect for my needs. The investment is in health, not dollars. Its saving my life.
Then I guess it is reasonable to assume that your home, your vehicles, your appliances, and your clothing are all at least 15 years old.
You have my sympathy. It can't be easy being that medically challenged.
Please educate us, exactly what toxic chemicals are you concerned about?
