2005 Fleetwood Expy, Power gear slide out. Went to put the bedroom slide in and I could hear clicking but the motor didn't move.
I figured out how to disengage the gear and turn it in with a ratchet to go home.
I figured bad motor but not so sure now. After I got home I got the DVM out. No voltage going to the motor, I guessing a bad controller? Found three separate boards outside. There are two big ones with auto- resettable breakers which guess are for the big slides and a third smaller board with a 20A fuse for the small slide. Ceramic fuse appears open so will replace in the next few days. Usually a blown fuse blows for a reason so don't have high hopes that that will fix it.
All ideas are welcome.
We fixed one a while back with my neighbors rig. Turned out the normally closed ignition safety relay would pass voltage, but not with the current draw of the slide. Removed the relay, replaced it with a heavy jumper and we were good to go. The controller was being blamed at first go around, until the real culprit showed itself. I would apply voltage from a 12v battery directly on the motor to rule out a few things and then go from there. You may have to reverse the leads for proper direction and then again to bring it back in.
