power leveling jacks
Hi Folks, Just traded our fifth wheel for a 27' winnebago sunstar. My question is can you put down the leveling jacks on a slightly graded driveway, and open slides? There are three slides.

Jacks lift the rig off the ground no problem. The problem is they don't handle side force. The rear wheels limit or prevent the this. The side force puts the jacks in a bind and they will not retract. Worst case, the ram bends and will never retract. It takes some heavy equipment and $$$ to get the rig high enough to get under it to remove and replace the jacks.
I have seen this happen more than once.
The people who write the manuals know what they are doing.
