Power supply issue on satellite and matrix

Recently after repairs to replace my radio, cameram gps system I discovered my satellite controller and matrix box had no power. I had power to did and sat receiver in the same area. Dealer said their is a power module or something to that affect and that these two had pulled out so they needed to replace it. It is warranty work and they ordered a new power module and will install. Can anyone explain this any further. I am pretty dense on electrical things. It seems this is unique to these two devices.

    If I were to guess I would say a "Power Module" and "Wall Wort" are probably the same. It's simply the plug-in 110vac to whatever voltage converter. Sounds a little fishy if you are missing power from two different devices

    if you are talking about the HDMI ROUTER that some call a "matrix" (it's a poor term), some have external wall worts that have a history of failing.

    My question is what is a power module? What does it do? Is it usual to have satellite and matrix box hooked to it and not the dvr's and DVDs?

    So they said there was no power to the power module or that the power module wasn't putting out on the satellite side? Having trouble following your question...
