Price for 2016 motorhome
Looking to buy my first Class A Diesel Pusher. I'm looking at 2016 Thor Tuscany XTE 40 BX which MSRP at $307,269. What would be a good price off sticker, like 33-37%. Just wondering how far they will come down. Thanks

- Just released, you would be lucky to even get 25% off, wait until the season is over, then try it.
- I won't agree with those saying no big discount on a '16. We did 30% off the new one and $5K over NADA Trade for our trade-in when we ordered our last one. That was in June of '07 on a new '08.
Just because it's new doesn't mean they won't discount. - Here we go with the Thor bashing again - by folks who don't own one. Scwintek slides are used by a lot of manufacturers. I remember seeing a few threads where Winnie slides failed too. Fixes were incorporated into the design and I haven't seen a failed slide thread in months. But none of that matters because the Tuscany doesn't use the Schwintek slides on any of the full walls. - More evidence people don't know what they are talking about. Winnie's roofs come off. I have read threads about the famed Newmar quality being just as bad as anyone else's. I remember going through a Newmar at a show and seeing first hand things like bin doors coming away from the hinges, shades falling down from screws not properly anchored, the infamous Amish quality cabinetry having stapled and glued veneer wall panels and cheap glides. Heck on one the wall panel was pulling away. This was a brand new coach. I would challenge anyone to go to a show, walk through several brands of similar model coaches without looking at the manufacturer and see if you can tell me what brand it is. They all use the same cheap stuff and I haven't been overly impressed with anyone's quality. I have had zero issues with my entry level Thor. And I have to say it's one of the best companies I've dealt with in terms of customer service and support. The Tuscany is no entry level coach and I have seen nothing but praise from folks on this forum that own them. Hopefully they will chime in as they actually know what they are talking about. I would expect 25-35% off MSRP.

You can probably get a nice winnebago for that price. I have had Thor's and would not buy another one. Just my opunion.- Being a previous owner of a couple Thor products,they are nothing more than lipstick on a pig. As many have indicated here, it would be a wise decision to consider all your options.

Not bashing, just saying be aware. The major engineering flaws on our Thor TT were something a 10th grade BOCES Class wouldn't have done. Having said that, thats a TT, not a MH - big difference for sure.
As to the slides, we were in Gettysburg last weekend and there was a beautiful new Winne Tour parked off to the side, with one slide 1/2 in and twisted like no slide should ever be twisted. It was bad. I just looked up "Schwintek slides" and sure enough - that was the system on the one that failed.
On a side note, I'm glad your ACE has treated you well. I hate to see horror stories and quality issues. Case in point, the Winnie mentioned above - what a crappy way to end a trip - and their trip isn't over. They still need to get it fixed and get it back on the road. It's too bad not every MH or TT doesn't work as they should.- We have a 2012 Fleetwood Discovery 40G. Very similar floor plan and price to the Thor. One difference is our Discovery has the Cummins ISC instead of the ISB-XT. Current ones have a detuned ISL.
If nothing else, it might help in negotiations.
We did have a 2007 Four Winds 34H super-c before and it was fine. But comparing them isn't an apples to apples comparison.
David - For that kind of money you might be able to get a 2015 Entegra Aspire, as the 2016's are just about to come out..A 2 yr warranty and unparalled support and customer service...along with a side radiator...I have had first hand dealings with Entegra and a dealer and Entegra will be the next new one.
