I had a class A motor home manufacturers rep once tell me that when one purchases a high dollar coach most of the money buys more attention from personnel at the factory.
While that may be true in some cases, many higher end/higher dollar coaches are indeed built better. Coaches with a semi-monoque design are more sturdy, quieter, stiffer (less flexing), ride and handle better than those that are primarily bolted or screwed to some cross members welded to a chassis. Most of those higher end rigs are built on bus chassis or chassis that were specifically designed for the coach. My previous coach from one of the popular manufacturers had the side walls screwed to the floor with #8 self drilling sheet metal screws. That is much different than how many of the higher dollar coaches are built.
I will agree that many of the high dollar/higher end rigs we viewed had a bit too much fu fu for our tastes.
