I have to agree. Texas has a boom going on with oil, so even in the off-season, people are buying RVs at full MSRP or whatever the dealer quotes for numbers.
Some RV places in this area are decent, but if they refuse to come anywhere close, I'll probably just fly to Iowa, buy from Lichtsinn and and drive the rig back, or if that is still too high, Sportsmobile will happily make a Transit upfit well under $90,000. To boot, they might just be able to spec stuff like the
Truma 6e furnace/water heater, so the Transit upfit is on par with the competition.
Sportsmobile is unique in that the prices posted are the prices what one pays (they don't cut corners, and their price, while not being overpriced, reflects that), so one can make a baseline price on what to compare other "B" upfits to.
