Thanks for your help. I finally called Xantrex. They were most helpful. Their customer service by phone or email was exceptional. Type 2 is the correct setting.(Although from looking at the wiring, I'm sure type 10 would work just as well) The problem was with the wiring. The schematic in the book indicates that wires 16 and 18 are connected internally but aren't. They have to be connected externally to ground wire 13. Simply connecting these 3 wires solved my problem. (So much for professional installation!!!!)
