Progressive power converter problem pd-7648

I want to thank all the advice I have received. I have fixed the problem with a tooth pick. That is right a tooth pick. That was after removing to unit and putting it on a table. The battery charger part is a SCR that is controlled by a circuit board. The board had power but it wasn't making it to the SCR. A squirt of contact cleaner and running a tooth pick through the connector pins and now it is alive. And next thing is putting it back in and connecting all the wires. If it goes out again I will just replace it. Thanks Again

Have you called PD they are in Michigan and they can recommend a replacement.

If you want to make friends with communist countries buy a WFCO. If you want a good converter dont buy a WFCO, buy something better like a new PD. Some upgrades come with a new fuse panel.

That old PD-7648 is a 1970's technology.....

In your 1989 RV it's 25 yrs. old.

Time for an upgrade....new converter.

Did you try calling Best converter?

I looked for a direct replacement and found none. I can get manuals on it but cannot find parts or replacement for it.

Some of these older units have two outputs, one clean and one dirty.
I would suggest getting a direct replacement converter section from Best converter. It could save a lot of headaches.
