Always keep it on. Otherwise the food would get pretty warm, while traveling.
Our diesel isn't going to give off much in the way of flamable vapors when refueling. The refrigerator is about 15 ft back of the right side tank fill.
If something happened and the propane stopped to the refrigerator it would try to relight. Not any more chance the line will rupture or something going down the road than sitting still.
The only way to be sure there is never a problem with the propane is to always keep it turned off, or simply take the tank out.
Put the food in coolers and back in the fridge when at the campground and run off electric. Of course the electric could short out.
Going down the road on the Inverter, the Inverter might overheat and catch fire. Running the genny to keep the fridge cool could lead to all kinds of unfathomable consequencies too.
Best thing just take packaged foods that don't need cold. Cut the water heater off too.
