Agree 100% with Doug on this.
IMHO, this fear is based on some bored corporate lawyers who are trying hard to justify their existence. It fails the "common sense" test in so many ways it isn't funny.
Take a look at gas rigs...we all have spark plug wires. When was the last time they were changed? Then add to that the number of cars that have at least one bad plug wire. I'll bet that easily 10%, and likely more, are running old wires that have at least one "crack" in them...and if you looked at the motor in the dark while running, you'd see quite a lightening show. MUCH more prevalent than a motorhome fueling up with the fridge on. People think about the flame in the fridge, but ignore much more common sparks that occur at gas stations every day, day in and day out.
It reminds me of one time when I was getting gas in my car and talking on my cell phone. A young woman came running out of the convenience store screaming at me for causing a hazard.
When was the last time you saw a spot on the evening news about a cell phone blowing up a gas station?
Never, that I'm aware of...and if it ever happened, it would be all over the news.
