ALways a lot of doom and gloom on this subject with claims of "numerous" and "too many" fires, hail and brimstone. But I rarely see any facts on it. I would guess that if the manufacturer - the ones with the most vested interest outside of us the owners, say it's ok, then it's ok. I have had my flame blow out though, however the re-ignite or lock modes seem to work without blowing up everything in a 5 mle radius. It simply lights and goes on about it's business.
