- gfs1943ExplorerBefore you make the decision, download the installation instructions and see what you have to do to the car to install the base plate. I have an '06 CRV; I went with Roadmaster base plate because the Blue Ox required that I drill and chisel off a bracket on each side to install the base plate. The Roadmaster was a direct bolt-on with no drilling/chiseling required.
My Roadmaster base plate does not have an external cross bar. - mci7ExplorerAgree on the Blue Ox, use them on both the Ford F150 & Honda 2011 CRV, works great.
