(Rant on) Well, Dennis, I have driven over 3,000,000 safe miles all across this country, as a owner/operator, and let me assure you, there are many, MANY, grades that are more than 6%, some in the same grade are 6%, 7% , 8%, as the terrain goes! You need to get out more!! Take the little drive from I-15, to I-70 east, all the way into Denver, then tell me about your book reading! And that is just one stretch, there are so many more! And I am talking about Interstates, here, get off on the two lanes sometime! Really see this great country of ours! Would you like me to compile a list of all the roads with over 6% grades? I can call on a few hundred of my trucking buddies to add their two cents in also? This thread was about the stretch of I-40, from Ca. into Flagstaff. and yes there are some very hard pulls between Kingman and Flagstaff, and some downhill grades of 5%,6%,7%! Not that you would notice, with 525 Hp, and let me guess 40,000lb coach? Back to the topic at hand! (Rant off)
