I bought a used RV from ebay without looking at it personally. But, I had a good friend who lived in the area and I had him go over and look at it for me. He's not really an RV expert but was at least able to determine it was as represented and the seller was legit.
I wouldn't buy one based just on the salesman's word. Particularly from a "big" dealership. I tend to trust a small business more than a larger one.
