Putting MH insurance "to sleep"???

Does anyone have experience with putting the insurance on their rig to sleep or otherwise have it "active" only 6-8 months out of the year? The last few years it didn't matter because we were using our rig every month or so year round. Situations change and we anticipate the rig staying parked until the warm weather returns to NY. All thoughts and ideas / tips appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. We have the policy through GEICO along with our other vehicles.

    We never take off the insurance, because at least once a month I take it out for a drive to keep the drive train lubricated and get any condensation build up burned out by getting everything warmed up. If we have been out using it, which we do quite regularly, then I do not need to make a special run with it.

    Some places you might need to surrender the plates before you can take the insurance off, just saying, some places.
