Former 5er owner... We had no issues putting out the slides just about anytime... Of course, we didn't do it if we were really off level. Now the motorhome has dire warnings about being level before ...

It's not really about being level to ground as having the chassis "square". When using the levelers is easy to twist the chassis slightly and that is when the slides may bind. When it's riding on the suspension this is less likely to happen unless the out of level is pretty radical.
