It can be challenging! We have an old corian sink cutout that I've setup as a stove cover which helps during prep, when use electric griddle, etc. We have a double basin sink and am planning on doing a cover for basin. We also use the dinette table for food prep that can be easily picked up when meal is ready to eat.
