Have your questions been answered? Just curious, we've not heard back from you. Letting us know would be helpful as in the future we know you're actually interested in how people respond to your thread.
We have checked the Onan site & found nothing yet, but we will be looking for more later.
The replies have been sort of all over the board but that should be what anyone should expect from a board posted question.
At this point we will be looking for 1/2 gallon to 1 gallon per hour gas consumption when running only one a/c unit.
And we will be unhooking the 30 amp shore power plug in before we start the generator.
We'd like further input from people with first hand experience.
Thanks !!
Using 1/2 gallon per hour while running one A/C will be just about right. If it's less, consider that a bonus!
If you are on 30 amp power, you don't need to unplug when you fire up the genset as you will automatically be disconnected by the built-in transfer switch. When you shut the genset down your shore power connection will automatically kick back in.
Now, if you only plan to use 1 A/C you will not want to start your genset, the shore power will provide more than enough service.
If you are not yet a member of the Tiffin Forum you should do so immediately. You will get the best information from other users of the same coach doing the same thing.
If this still leaves you scratching your head, please let me know what and why.
