Question regarding Grey Tank Lever

After having no luck trying to find someone to fix it and to make sure roughly how big (or not) a job it was I had my car mechanic (who knows trailers) take a look at it and he thought it certainly was not worth what I was originally quoted and said he wanted to fix it. I picked it up on Friday and used it over the weekend. It works great and was very happy with the fix and the price.

One thing I noticed when I originally crawled underneath was it looked like it had previously been MacGyvered and my mechanic said someone had tried to fix it without doing it properly.
