Question Regarding Water Valve in new RV

Hey all,

Picked up my new to me Holiday Rambler a week ago. Currently it is in the shop getting a couple things taken care of.

I have a quick question regarding the water valve on the city hook up. Mainly... 1.) What do the 2 different positions do and.. 2.) which position should this lever be in if I am connected to city water or if I am boondockin?

Thanks all

According to printing on the frame it appears you turn it to the right to fill the water tank and probably to left for using with full hookups. There would not be any connection to a black flush tank in connection with a fresh water supply line.

    Correct

Sorry I dont have a wider picture. I will try to snap one when I get the RV back from service.

Ignore the flush on the left side, there is a seperate connection over there for the black tank flush. I did notice that with city water disconnected I moved the lever to water tank, when I did that water starting coming out of the hose hookup. I think this is how I can fill my water tank with the city connection w/o using the gravity fill. Then to just use city water pressure move it back to the curent position its in...

  • Present position is for being attached to a constant supply of water. The other position is for filling the fresh water tank. After filling the tank, turn the valve back to "Local Supply" to prevent loosing tank water through the valve on inclines.

It looks to me to be a very clever idea. In its present position it supplies water to the coach. When turned 90 degrees it flushes the black holding tank. Eliminates having to disconnect hose and reconnect when emptying the tank.

if that is a black tank flush, and as was stated, a good picture please, it would be the most dreadful hookup ever. no air break, to black tank sprayer??
    bumpy
  • Eliminates having to disconnect hose and reconnect when emptying the tank.

Also, imo, a lot better than the electric valves. Simple, inexpensive and accessible.

  • 1) Hose connected you can supply water to plumbing system OR fill fresh water tank to use on-board pump for plumbing system

2)Got a wider picture showing more of the water panel?
Hard to tell from your picture which way valve needs to be positioned for each function
  • one way fills the tank and supplys water to 12V pump when BD ing and the other position bypasses the Water tank and supplys water via water pressure from domestic source
