Rack and Pinion Steering on Itasca Navion IQ

Having problems getting rack and pinion replaced on my 2008 Itasca Navion IQ. The service center has put two different remanufactured units in my vehicle. The first one drove fine for 40-50 miles then the steering locked up. The service center ordered another one, put it in and didn't even make it out of the shop before it locked up. I have been dealing with this since Feb. 16. Our next move is to get my original one back which was steering just fine but had a steering fluid leak. Has anyone else had issues with this? Right now we can't safely drive the motorhome so are stranded in the parking lot of the shop and going on our 11th night there.

  • I looked on e bay theres a few ,BUT I remember back in the 2005 06 years they had some boxs leaking. I have a 2007 no leak yet . at this point 11 days at a dealer I,d buy a new box and not a rebuilt, appears the rebuilt,s are not good, and the dealer is gonna take the blame. he,s just the installer ,not his doing there junk.hope they,ve let you plug in into shore power . insist on new not rebuilt .
  • X2 I,d be looking for a frieghtliner or a MB shop and have it towed out of there, some thing real wrong here.
  • Who is this "service center"? Sounds to me like they may not know what they are doing or their parts sourcing sucks.
