Hi, I just thought I'd pop in and say Hi.
I'm scheduled to take Delivery of a Cruise Canada Majestic 28A on April 7 and this thread was a big part of my decision to buy a Rental, thanks to the O/P!
I've been RV'ing for the last 10 years with a 5er and a Ram 2500 6.7 Diesel and long before that with many bumper pull units. I drove a used Class A unit at another dealer and while being quieter and bigger I am not sure I am ready for the tall center of gravity of an A and having only a single entrance. The CC 28A will have an Awning thrown in and I asked for new batteries and at least new steering tires. I drove one with 120,000 Miles (195000Km) and it was easy to drive and park so hopefully no issues with my chosen unit that has 110,000 MI as it was buried in a snow drift. I went through several of them on the lot and most of them have front overhand roof leaks and by the shower door the floor was heaved up badly. I chose one that did not have these issues and was almost the cleanest unit in the place despite the higher mileage. I looked at one with 90,000 Miles and it looked trashed and everything was loose, delam everywhere and the likes. CC (in Calgary anyway) does not let you look at a re-manufactured unit but only lets you choose a unit before the rebuild work is done. I would have thought they would have many reman units to choose from instead of looking at trashed ones. In any event, Thanks to this thread I have a good idea of what to look for and will bring a mat and probably a ladder and make sure it's good before I agree to take it home. Of course I'll do an extensive test drive and the bonus is that I'm exceptionally mechanically inclined and usually spot stuff very easily. Anything else I should be looking for before delivery?
Thanks for the great thread!
