I know Ram went with ProMaster and I can see why they dropped Sprinter vans. Not because Sprinter vans are bad or have poor reputations but because Ram wanted to partner with their new co-owners and the ProMaster van like the Sprinter has an extensive track record in Europe something like thirty years of service. I have always liked the Sprinter vans because they are (mostly) diesel and so big that they can carry most anything. And the raised roof is a huge plus. That is why the ProMaster comes standard in a raised roof for the 2500 and 3500 series. Only the half tons come in a standard roof. I think the dually Sprinter van is better than any single rear wheel van in the one ton series and in windy places like Nevada. That is a shortcoming of the ProMaster, it does not come in a dually. I hope the OP gets the van fixed and all works out for him/her.
RAM did not drop the Sprinter, Daimler dropped Chrysler and they became part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). Daimler moved the Sprinter sales in the US over to Mercedes but not all Mercedes dealers handle the Sprinter.
