Ready for the Season!

Got the big girl out of storage this weekend and spent the majority of it cleaning inside and out, flushing/sanitizing water tank/lines, flushing holding tanks and doing a good go-over of all mechanical systems. Heading to the local lake, (state park), for Easter weekend and am so ready to get back into camping for the season.

Found and fixed a couple of minor issues. When checking on her in the storage facility, the door grab handle broke so we had ordered a new one and got it replaced. And while washing the exterior, noticed that the plastic exterior access door over the Norcold had broken one of the latches and was loose. Just ordered a new access door as the existing one is terrible faded. Added a Battery Tender last year to trickle-charge the starter battery when the coach is plugged in and sitting in the driveway or at a campsite. We use the dash radio a lot when working/cleaning on it or when camping to entertain the pup so sometimes when you go to crank the engine, it doesn't want to turn over as readily.

Everything else should be good to go! Hope everybody (that part-time camps) gets out this weekend! You full-timers are already there! Enjoy!!!
  • Man, in TX we totally had it out since January. I like the long RV seasons here and year round state parks.
  • Back in November we put new tires and I changed the tranny fluid & filter. In March I changed the oil & filter on both engine & gene. This weekend I had to replace the turbo and that was a job. Never done that before, but got-r-done and running like a dream again.

Fortunately I get to keep using the RV year round especially since I picked up a new hobby of riding a RzR with friends at an adventure park 12 miles from home. Sometimes the DW joins, but if it's cold she enjoys the house and says Bye. :)

We do have a big trip planned in July heading to Sturgis, SD for several weeks. Really looking forward to that.

    Happy RVing.
  • Taking the Sahara to the airport tomorrow. I moved to a condo over the winter and can't work on it at home. The usual list of spring things (which I missed last year because we were on the road), plus I'm pulling up the carpet and hardwood and putting down vinyl planking.

First trip end of May to Assateague.
  • Won't be able to get ours out of storage for a couple more weeks yet, but looking forward to getting the season started!
  • I'm ready. TT is ready. Weather is ready (it's 75 right now in Buffalo, NY)
but the campgrounds (State Parks in NY) are not open yet, 1 to 2 weeks!
