Gassers can tow 5000 pounds. Diesels 10000 pounds. Based on just what you want to tow I'd get a diesel. My 34 ft gasser with V10 gets about 6.1 honest mpg towing a 4000 pound Jeep. On flat land with no mtn grades I get upward of 6.9 honest mpg. However, I wouldn't base getting any MH on mpg. My first priority would be does it do what I want.
