Ok, not to get all mathed up about it, but the average price per gallon we paid throughout the whole trip was $3.45. Thats an average of the really low prices in West Virginia, and the really high prices in the northeast. Diesel prices averaged $4.05 for the same area.
My old Dynasty diesel got a solid 9.5 mpg, meaning I paid $0.426 per mile driven.
My new F53 gasser got me 7.5 mpg, meaning I pay $0.460 per mile driven.
So on a 3000 mile trip, diesel cost me $1,278.00. gas cost me $1,380.00 for the same 3000 miles, for a difference of $102.00.
So it cost me $102.00 more to run my gasser than my diesel. I can live with that.
