For what it's worth, EVERY dealer charges for a PDI but many or smarter than to let you know that. EVERYTHING they do for you is included in their price and TELLING the customer how they plan on splitting it up is just looking for trouble.
I have to agree. when we bought our jeep liberty back in 2010 we negotiated an 'out-the-door' price with the dealership. we made it clear that we didn't care how that total was represented on the sales form but that we weren't going to pay one dime more than agreed upon...the sole exception being state sales tax. my buddy enjoys beating up dealers over $25 doc fees and the like. life is too short for that silliness.
