Really bad news about our Trail Lite

There must be some cost effective cure for mold if it is dangerous. We bought an old rig that had some mold. I sealed the leaks and aired out the rig in Socal heat. The slight musty odor remained for many years until we sold it. We also lived to tell about it. I would do some research about type of mold and possible cures before disposing of your rig. Get a second and third opinion.

We did a trade because the dealer where we bought our new coach would be able to repair the problems rather than sell something with numerous problems in a private sale.

I have not personally been in the motor home to see if they fixed the really bad problems. I know some of the moisture problems must be fixed because of the visible problems from it.

I am quite sure they will not get what they are asking, that is higher than the on-line valuation we found.

Just because they are asking twice as much for it does not mean they will get that much.

Plus we have to take into consideration that fleecing the public and taking advantage of people does have expenses!

I'm not at all surprised the dealership is turning it around as is. Consider the experience as expensive tuition, I guess. BTDT, more or less.

Wrap up on our R-Vision. We cleaned and dried with a dehumidifier for several days after my friend stopped by and did moisture tests. Seems the walls were pretty wet in several different areas. We took it in and let the dealership do their inspection. We got half what we paid for it. There were some visible problems that were bothering me that needed to be fixed that DH was oblivious to. I was looking on line at that dealership and low and behold - our RVision was listed for sale at twice what we took as a trade. LOL! They were going on and on about how much they would have to do to sell it - remove the slides, etc. I looked at the photos and some of the things that bugged me are still broken.

Some home mold test kits come to mind. Not as good as a second opinion, but might help things.

ours has always been under an awning, but i have applied dicor here and there from time to time (shower skylight, awning lag bolts, and all across rear fiberglass-to-roof seam that was poorly made at factory).

seems like the roof maintenance as 'insurance' you have been paying for should be at issue.

also, maybe the prolonged heavy rain and closed windows caused prolonger inside humidity to condense on walls. maybe just clorox cleaning inside and some good sunshine??? (some kind of inside dehumidification technique might help)

call some local dealers to see if this is a common thing this year.

There must be a fix that is cheaper than buying a new rig depending on how extensive the mold is. We had an old rig that had leak damage and mold smell. I sealed the leaking joints and we used the rig for years with a slight mold smell and lived to tell about it. Ask for advice from the manufacturer's technical support person/department.
