Rear bedroom/closet slide out converted to bunk beds?

I was about to say the same thing about the windows, we have owned traditional bunk models (coachman 35DS and a Fleetwood Fiesta) before our current loft setup. In all 3, my kids have never opened/open the windows. There is plenty of air flow from the rest of the RV. If you look how they build tour buses none of the bunks have windows at all.

If cutting windows in the slide you might want to consider the alteration of the structural aspects of it. It's one thing for a slide to be built with windows but another to make cut-outs after the fact.

Yes there are used ones available, but they are a premium. I can find an 04-06 with 3 slides for at least $10k less than a comparable model with bunks. And the used bunk models look a "bit" more used than the non bunk models.

Dodge Guy, while what you are talking about is doable, can you not find a used one with bunks? I see lots advertised. I have been looking at getting one with bunks and converting bunks to office/craft area, since there are actually very few MH's with separate office/desktop area.

Ooh. I like that a lot. The only thing is it would be in the living area. I like to stay up late sometimes and watch TV (laying on the couch). Thanks for the tip though.

But I could convert a full closet for around $500-1000k.

that was my first impression when I envisioned a closet slide in the bedroom. but then remembered those floor plans where the closet/bunk slide was just ahead of the bedroom off the hall.

I'm talking full on conversion to bunks! Windows, curtains and a door to separate the bedroom. Just like you see in the new models with bunks.
