Made the trip last month -we came in to Jackson from Idaho Falls. We took U.S 26 to Alpine Junction, made a left- at which point it becomes U. S 26/89. You can't miss it! There is a gas station to fuel up if you need. It's an easy grade straight in to Jackson. It was a great drive and my wife,who is picky about grades,seconds that!
One last thought.....get a good map and look at this route. My GPS wanted to take me a different route,which might have been shorter,but my route was less taxing....good roads,less grades!
