I just did it in mine but only had to cut off 1/2 inch down one side and take a drawer out. Maybe you've just got the wrong size refrigerator. I shopped for one by width. That's the measurement that was important in my install. The hardest thing I had to deal with was the gas line. I relocated that to the outside storage so I could hook up a grill. I made a platform out of 2x4's and plywood for the refrigerator to sit on. I was able to screw the refrigerator to the platform by going through the old refrigerators outside vent. I think I'm going to change that side vent to a marine style hatch cover so air doesn't come in. It has good air flow from inside the RV. Also I found so trim at Home Depot that is the paper covered "simulated" wood that matches perfect. They have some colors to choose from that might work for you. Maybe you're just trying to put a square peg in a round hole and need to find a better fit. Somebody need to make a direct replacement.
