recently I saw a large fan/lite that mounted inside refrig above cooling fins to cut down on ice build up,the price was $89.00 .It looked good and I finally decided to break down and buy it problem is...

Not sure how the defrost cycle is supposed to work, but it didn't on mine. I had icebergs on the fins and poor cooling before the fans. Ice actually insulates the thermostat making it think it needs to be on all the time. The fans move the cold air around and keep the thermostat working properly.
Before the fans, stuff on the top shelf would freeze and stuff on the bottom was warm. Now it's even. They may look cheap, but I'm not trying to win a beauty contest in the fridge.
