Rental as long term strategy?

Interesting thread - bringing out some RV philosophies. I replied earlier about the importance of outfitting and maintaining an RV to my liking but there is another aspect. I took up RVing after I retired. By then I had become very wise about my own priorities. My goal with the camping was to have a situation that made it convenient for me to exercise this pastime as frequently as I wanted with as little aggravating hassle as possible. It is costing me much more than renting but I go very frequently with little bother and no aggravating hassle (barring breakdowns which are applicable whether renting or owning). If I had to rent I would go very infrequently and it would be major hassle each time. And the OP says, he will reassess when he retires.
