I replaced my 1200's cooling unit with an Amish built cooling unit almost five years ago. I still wasn’t happy with the performance, so like Dennis, I replaced the entire fridge with a residential Samsung. I too have a 2000W inverter with four house batteries. While I confess that we don’t frequently boondock, we do occasionally. Our first trip with the Samsung was boondocking in the desert. The inverter and batteries had no problem whatsoever keeping the fridge powered. I ran the fridge all night on batteries, over 8 hours, and I still had 70% left in my batteries. My batteries were 6 months old at the time so their age may have contributed to their performance. My batteries are Interstate 6V wet cells and my inverter is a Magnum MS2000 pure sine wave. I am told that the Samsung will also operate with a modified sine wave inverter.
