Replacement Gas Spring for Entry Door
We bought our 2006 Fleetwood Pace Arrow 37C a couple years ago. One of the items our dealer 'fixed' was the replacement of the entry door Gas Spring. The one they put on is 40# which seems a bit much. I don't have an issue with it but my wife struggles with it, especially when trying to shut (pull) the door from inside the coach.
I am curious as to what resistance (pounds) I should consider replacing it with. I was looking at a 30# Gas Spring which would reduce it by 10# for my wife but that doesn't seem like it would be enough. I almost want to go with 20# but I would like for some to report back (if possible) on what resistance some of you have on your entry doors.
Thanks!
This is the current Gas Spring installed for my door:
