how about just using FOAM? Get the thickness and size you need cut to shape just like they do in the auto shows on tv. You will just have to glue to the cab and all should be well as it will form just like you want and best of all it will add some noise insulation. Just a thought
I've been thinking the same thing. I would need a way to attach the vinyl above the windshield then pull it back and over the foam stapling it to the cabover cutout. I should be able to staple the foam to a 2" or so wide 1/4 luan strip of wood then screw that into the steel above the window. I would put slide the wire/cable sleeve over the outer edge to make it smooth for the vinyl. I would glue the foam to the steel using contact cement after cutting it to fit.
