Replacing microwave/convection oven
The over the counter microwave in our 1999 DSDP is kaput. At 15 years old, I guess it's due. Can anyone give me an idea how to remove it while minimizing the damage to the cabinetry? Thanks! Bob

Will the vent inside the cabinet move up and disengage from the top of the microwave? According to the install manual for other Sharp brands the vertical exhaust assembly on the top of the microwave simply slides into place under the vertical opening in the bottom of the cabinet. There are no screws to hold it. I suppose some extra ones could have been added thru the bottom of the cabinet but I think that is unlikely.
I could not swing my dead Sharp microwave off the bracket until I released the power cord. It was pulled very tight thru the hole in the bottom of the cabinet.
