I'll bet your Norcold 1200 didn't come with a 10-year warranty. It's just lasted 10 years.
Typically residential fridge warranty is 1 year w/90-day labor.
You could probably install one upside down in an RV at it would last at least a year. To me a 1-year warranty ranks with toilet paper. You can, however, buy extended (3 - 5 year) warranties which might be a good idea.
