We put in a Frigidaire 12 cf about 2 months ago, and so far have not had any problems. Once you do this, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
In case you aren't aware, some of the mfr. won't honor the warranty if installed in an RV. I know for a fact Frigidaire won't. Don't know if that matters to you. Also, make sure you plug in the fridge BEFORE installing it in the RV. We had a nightmare as we received a defective fridge, but found out after it was installed. We were able to get a new one, but not without some haggling because it was in the RV. Thank you Famous Tate for coming through for us.
That's strange because my New Cardinal 5th wheel came with a 23 cubic foot side by side Frigidaire and it covered by a three year warranty. My microwave is also a Frigidaire. I called Frigidaire and they told me that their was no problem with it being in an RV as far as warranty was concerened. - John___AngelaExplorerOur residential has been in for almost two years. No problems and LOTS of miles. Zero clearance behind it. Cooling is out the front. Dry camping not a problem with additional solar and battery's. The installation was not really that bad although we had to bring it in through the windshield. 22 cubic foot

- gatorcqExplorerInstalled a Whirlpool 20CuFt. Susan is really happy
- John_S_Explorer III took out the side window or they take out the front window. It is easy to get them in and out

You do not want to go over 4 hours with out power at a time
weird statement..
we go all night with no power, over 12hrs
did this with only 4 GC batteries, now have 7*12v
yes the inverter has too be sized correctly, i don't think either will be a problem for a 37ft diesel coach the OP has in his signature - John_S_Explorer IIYour inverter and engine will run it with no problem on the road. I can go overnight with no issues on three 8ds. Also, the one I got has the coils hidden and do not show.
- John_S_Explorer III put in a residential unit. You build a platform and you put in a board in the back to prevent it from going backwards. YOu then bolt it to the bottom platform and you put a wedge up top. You wil close off one of the vents. I would put screening on th bqck and close off the roof. I put in a 19 CU Ft Counter dept samsung RF 197 french door. Best up grade in a long time. I wish I did it a while ago. I have had 25 friends who have done the same thing in the last few months too. They have been standard with a whirlpool or Samsung in Foretravel for a number of years. No issues at all.
