residential refrig problem

Thanks all. Some mysteries may be solved. I found out refrigerator does not start all the time on shore power either. Eventually it does. I ran generator long enough that refrig started up and ran fine. Then tried it on inverter. After a while,it started and ran. Home Depot is going to switch out refrigerator for me. I have decided to get a true sine inverter because of all the other electronics we have, and how much we use the inverter. If my inverter is part of the problem, that should solve it. If the refrigerator is part of the problem, hopefully that will solve it. Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I may not have to shoot myself after all. Drake
