I have been researching fridges as our Norcold just went out. We fully intended to get a residential anyway. As I know for a fact from personal experience that Frigidaire won't honor the warranty if installed in an RV, I thought I'd check with Samsung just to see what they say. I also wanted to check with them on the MSW vs PSW. Well, as typical of anything nowadays, I got 2 completely different responses from Samsung. My first response from them said that no, ALL of their fridges won't work well on MSW, and no, they will not honor the warranty if installed in an RV. I then got model specific with them - the model DANO lists above - as I knew the RF197 had been discontinued, and that response from a different person, I'm sure, was that it draws 1600 amps each time it starts up, so if your MSW supplies that, that yes, it will work, and they will honor the warranty.
I believe the model above is smaller - around 18 cf, but DANO got a good price. DANO, I'd like to know where you found it, please.
Uh 1600 amps ? I think you need to question them again there is no way
agree. at 110-volts, 1600-amps would mean the fridge needs 192000 watts to function. I found the electrical specs online that indicate the fridge consumes 11.6-amps at 115-vac. and that would be the maximum draw.
remember, the compressor does not run continuously. energy consumption is rated at approximately 450,000-watts (450kw) per year. assuming it runs for an entire year (365 days) and all else being equal the fridge will consume 1233-watts per day or an average of 51-watts per hour which is less than 1-amp per hour at 115-vac.
