Are you sure your cooling unit is bad or just needs servicing? Are you on electric or gas? When mine did that on gas I had to clean the burner and that solved the problem. Check the gas flame it should be approx.1 inch tall and make a kind of cackling noise. When I cleaned mine I was told to light the unit then take a air compressor about 120 lbs. and blow up and down the flame. It will go out but relight itself (caution wear googles and expect a blast of rust and other ****). After doing this mine worked very good and I now repeat this annually. My unit is now 13 years and last time I used it the freezer was -1 the frig. was 38.
