I have a 35' foot DP on a Freightliner chassis. So not the biggest of RV's, but much heavier than most gas rigs out there. A few years ago I was driving back to California from Utah going across the Salt flats in a storm. As I was getting close to Bonneville the crosswinds really picked up. I had slowed to about 30 mph because I couldn't keep it in the lane. At one point the wind actually pushed me into the fast lane even though I was turning the wheels to the right. I slowed to about 15 and got back into my lane, luckily traffic was very light. So I limped along at 15 until I got to the first exit I could find and got off and parked facing into the wind and waited it out.
